Working with little kids is one of the most entertaining and adorable parts of being a family photographer. Their energy, joy, and quirks bring something special into every image. Not to mention, the “free entertainment” of having youngsters along for a photo session is bound to make it easier to maintain that smile!

At the same time, we also have experienced the challenges that can arise when trying to get small children to cooperate for long periods of time. From restlessness and boredom to tantrums and accidents, we’ve seen it all.

In the end, the most important thing to remember when bringing small children to a shoot is that, regardless of what happens, your photographer has probably seen and handled it before. Professional photographers have unique ways to work with every member of your family to ensure that your images not only come out beautifully, but that you have great memories from creating them as well.
