There are some clear actions you can take THIS WEEK in order to start increasing your company or brand’s profits. Linda Orr is a professor of marketing at the University of Akron, and she has some great advice on finding your target audience and truly appealing to and engaging with them.

We highly encourage you to read her full article here. These are three tips we took away that could easily be started this week!

Think about all the things you have to say.

An open, blank journal.

Generating your own content through blogging and posting not only shows your customers that you are active, but also raises your brand higher in search results! Sometimes, it can be hard to come up with ideas regarding what sort of content you could provide to your audience. In reality, any topic that is connected to or relevant to your brand is fair game! Consider news events, tips, guides, insights, etc.

Engage in conversation with your followers and critics.

Customers feel seen and heard when your brand responds to them. Whether it is a great review, a question, a mention, or a complaint, make sure that you are keeping track of all of the ways that your audience is communicating with you. Respond back to them to build brand recognition and loyalty!

You have to master more than Facebook.

Blue array of social media icons

Facebook may still be a giant, but there are so many social media channels out there now that you must cast a broad net in order to find your target audience. Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat, Yelp, etc. are all avenues that you can use in order to make your brand more visible. Make sure that you have a strategy and appropriate content for each.
