Simply type the word “wedding” in a Google search and you’ll find yourself bombarded with an endless stream of advice. The most effective detox baths to take the weeks leading up to the big day, the best hairstyles for thick or thin hair, the most flattering dress style for your body type – this list goes on and on.
We know how tedious it can be to try and sift through all of the bits and pieces of guidance the internet has to offer. So, we’ve compiled the most useful and unique Do’s and Do Not’s you need to know concerning your big day.
DO Wear a Button Up Shirt While You’re Getting Ready

The most obvious go-to outfit when brides are getting their hair and makeup done is their favorite comfortable t-shirt. However, these are often difficult to pull back over the “finished masterpiece.” Consider wearing a soft button up shirt when you are getting ready. When it is time to change, you won’t have to worry about messing up your hair or makeup taking your shirt off.
DON’T Pile on the Perfume

Maybe you got a new scent specifically for your big day. Or, maybe you’re sticking to a tried and true aroma you’ve loved for some time now. Whatever perfume you’re wearing, make sure to apply it sparingly. Too much perfume can cause nausea and headaches for the person who’s wearing it. Furthermore, if you’ve chosen an outdoor venue, you may find that too much perfume causes insects to find you delightful.

DON’T Try to Write Your Wedding Vows the Night Before

If you wait until the night before your wedding, all of your excitement about your new life together will translate perfectly into the wedding vows you are trying to write, correct? Not so much.
Most brides find that the nerves, stress, and anxiety present the night before their big day can make it difficult to clearly articulate what they are trying to say through their vows or speech. Start this process a couple days, if not a couple weeks in advance so you have time to revise as you see fit.
DO Take Some Selfies

We all love the beautiful shots our wedding photographers take. That’s why we hire them, right? Many couples find that employing the infamous “selfie” on their wedding day can give a fun alternate view to those gorgeous photographs.
DON’T Pass Out

Everybody has seen the horrific (and hilarious) videos on YouTube of brides who have -gasp – actually passed out walking down the aisle. This can be attributed to the excitement, nerves, and tension present in those moments before you make that grand entrance.
Try some simple stretches and deep breathing before you head down the aisle. It will help you loosen up, get your blood moving and reduce the chance of a consciousness-mishap as you make your way to your partner. Once you have made it to your final locale, make sure to keep your knees soft and unlocked.
